The Ethical Society is not in favor of any conflict being resolved by killing. Recognizing that war is a method utilized to resolve conflict we suggest the following principle for your consideration.
This Ethical Society suggests that each country develop criteria for when that country should become involved in war. This Ethical Society thinks that a criteria should be developed before a country is considering involvement and not when the nation has become "politically charged".
The "principles" should dictate participation and not an emotionally charged political interest (such as oil or a corporate investment is about to be nationalized) (example GM's 89 billion dollar investment in China). This Ethical Society recognizes that both an aggressive philosophy (Hawks) and a passive philosophy (Doves) result in death and that many more lives have been loss as a results of countries deciding to not engage in war than all the wars combined, we recognize that passivity can be lethal.
